2025 Activities Commence in Preparation for the 2026 Dakar Rally

Issue #15:April 7, 2025

TLC will commence full-scale activities in 2025 in preparation for the 2026 Dakar Rally.

Starting with the next rally in 2026, the vehicle rules for the Stock Class (Production Car category), in which TLC will continue to compete, are to undergo major revisions. Other manufacturers have also announced their intention to enter the Stock Class, marking the beginning of a new era. TLC will be taking full advantage of its experience and know-how gained over more than 30 years of competing with production cars, and will continue its preparations for this season, aiming to become the first champion of the new Stock Class. The team welcomes and appreciates your continued support.

TLC is currently developing a new rally car to meet the requirements of the updated vehicle regulations. The new rally car will once again be based on the Land Cruiser 300 GR SPORT, but its 2025 Dakar Rally specifications have been modified and updated to comply with the new regulations.

Development of a prototype vehicle began in the middle of last year. The car will be tested in its first real-rally format at the Carta Rallye in Morocco from April 14 to April 20, 2025. The rally will consist of seven stages, covering a total distance of approximately 2,000 km, starting near Agadir, a city in southwestern Morocco, and ending at the sand dunes in Merzouga. The rally will put the car through a real-world stress test, enabling the team to check its performance, and identify any issues. Updates for the Carta Rallye will be posted to TLC's official social media accounts and website, so stay tuned!

[Update: April 9, 2025]
Due to the time needed to address mechanical problems that occurred during the shakedown of the new rally car, our participation in the Carta Rallye has been postponed and our plans for testing have changed.
We apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the rally. Your continued support is greatly appreciated by the team as we continue to develop our rally car.
