Rally Vehicle Development Testing and Competitive Evaluation
Ahead of Dakar Rally 2027

Issue #18:September 8, 2026

TLC will be conducting vehicle development testing in Morocco, Africa, from Monday, September 14, in order to verify the reliability, off-road performance, and durability of the Land Cruiser Stock Class vehicles being developed for the 2027 Dakar Rally. Morocco was selected because its terrain and environment closely resemble those encountered in the Dakar Rally.

After the development test, TLC will also compete in the Morocco Rally 2026, which will be held from Monday, September 28 to Saturday, October 3.

This development test will comprehensively evaluate the vehicles, which have been updated following discussions and reviews that took place after the 2026 Dakar Rally between the team and production vehicle development engineers from Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Auto Body, and related companies. The updated vehicles have already undergone a variety of evaluation tests, and the Morocco test will assess them under conditions closely resembling an actual competition environment. TLC sees this as an important opportunity to finalize the vehicle specs for the 2027 Dakar Rally.

In addition, through both the development test and participation in the Morocco Rally, TLC aims not only to improve vehicle performance, but also to further develop the skills of its drivers and mechanics. By refining both people and vehicles, the team aims to further strengthen its overall capabilities.

Updates from the development test in Morocco and the Morocco Rally will be shared regularly through TLC's official Instagram account. We thank you for your continued warm support and encouragement.
