Issue #15:May 22, 2024
The organizers of the Dakar Rally, Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.), announced the outline for the upcoming Dakar Rally 2025 on Saturday, May 18, 2024, local time.
According to the announcement, the 2025 rally will once again take place in a single Middle Eastern country, Saudi Arabia, from January 3 to January 17, over a period of 15 days (including one rest day). The rally will consist of a prologue and 12 stages, starting from Bisha in southwestern Saudi Arabia and heading north. The finish line will be at Shubaytah, the gateway to the Rub' al Khali desert in the southeastern region.
While the route details have not been revealed, it is known that the 2025 rally will feature challenging stages similar to the previous rally. These include THE 48H CHRONO STAGE, which caused difficulties for many teams, including TLC, and the Marathon Stage. THE 48H CHRONO STAGE will be set in the first half of the rally and will cover approximately 950 km of diverse terrain, including a mix of high-speed and technical sections, which must be completed within two days. Additionally, a Marathon Stage is planned, and will require competitors to cover approximately 800 km on a round trip without receiving mechanical support. Successfully navigating this stage without damaging the cars will be crucial.
Furthermore, at least five stages will have unique routes for the car and bike categories, making it impossible for cars to follow the bike tracks, highlighting the need for sharp navigation skills. The competition in the Empty Quarter is also set to feature three stages, where dry salt lakes and vast sand dunes will be awaiting the participants.
While the Dakar Rally 2025 is expected to present challenging stages, TLC aims to make ever better cars based on motorsports and will be fully prepared for the challenge. As always, your continued support is very much appreciated by the team.
